Small Plates … Always up for a place that serves small plates of delicious food. And, Bread in Common is one of those places. We were reminiscing about our childhood and decided catching the train to Fremantle would be a great way to do “brunch” in the Old Port Town.

Eclairs … Nice vibe on entering Lawley’s Bakery Café in Wembley Downs. The café is a lot more modern than the Mount Lawley one. It’s all glass and black furniture. And, instead of a bustling café strip it’s in a quiet surburban shopping centre.
Hand Made Treats … Sugar and Nice is a small café, relatively new to Beaufort Street. They offer up tempting treats, brunch, good coffee and special occasion cakes.

Chicken, Leek & Gruyere Pie … There was definitely something different about this pie. I spied it sitting in its cute Caviar Catering take away container, it was a small pie but it had height. Unusually high but couldn’t wait to try it.

Mixed Feelings … Firstly, let me just say that Jayleas Patisserie is miles from my home, miles and miles. But I had read the rave reviews for their pies and had to make the journey to see for myself. And, secondly, I don’t eat pies all the time, just occasionally. It seems I write about them a lot though.

The Bees Knees … The Twilight Hawkers Market in the City held an inaugural “Dessert Garden” section for the last few nights of the early 2015 Season. Xena and I thought this was a great thing to do. Nothing but desserts and about ten Food Stalls set up to tempt our taste buds. Yeah Baby.

Hidden Gem … Tucked away in Dyer Road, just off Collier Road, is the Danish Patisserie. Having worked in the area, I was very surprised not to know of its existence.

Treat City … Fresh Provisions isn’t a very large shop but what they cram into that Store is unbelievable. This is my go to place for a treat and I can always find something that appeals to me.

Gourmet Treats … The Checkout is a section of IGA in Leederville. It is a place to go for take home meals. Loads of quality meals ready to eat after a few minutes in the microwave. Think fresh Penne with a Tomato and Pesto Sauce with a few Kalamata Olives scattered around.

Great baguettes … One of my favourite cafe’s closed the other day and all of a sudden it turned into a Jean Pierre Sancho. Which, to me, was disappointing because the café that closed sold incredible filled rolls.
