And the beat goes on … Big fan of ilPasto’s Inglewood Trattoria and first time dining experience at ilPasto Mount Hawthorn. The beat definitely goes on in this sister trattoria. A new building but furnished with old memorabilia and photos, giving it a very nostalgic Italian feel.

Eclectic offerings … Discovered La Farmacia recently whilst driving to Scarborough Beach. In a little row of shops at the corner of St Brigids Terrace, one of the shops had a set of flags blowing in the wind which caught my eye. We decided to try the coffee.

Great food … On entering Lucioli you are confronted with an array of amazing looking sweet treats. This was a nice way to be introduced to their food with Rum Babas and Croissants. And, the fabulous Bar which takes centre stage in the main space.

Lunch special … Spied Kumagoro Japanese Restaurant in the Floreat Forum Shopping Centre. It looked inviting, so we decided to try their lunch special, which at $10.00, including a drink, proved to be a definite bargain.

Real food … Finally got a chance to try the Wagon at the Maylands Hawkers Market. Been trying to track down this food truck for a while now. It was difficult because they are usually in the Fremantle area, and, I am usually not. Great looking van with an enviable commercial kitchen. Seriously, it’s better fitted out than most Restaurant kitchens. Got to beat this food truck envy thing.

Buttermilk Chicken … On walking into Subidoo I felt the ghost of the Oriel Cafe still in place. The long bar is still present and has been enhanced by loads of greenery and a new design.

A mixed bag … Monte Fiore Café is housed in a great old building on Beaufort Street. It has wooden floors, a large wall of folding doors to bring the outside in and a large Bar. We’ve eaten there a couple of times now. The first when it wasn’t busy at all and it was quite a good experience with food, atmosphere and service being spot on. However, this last experience was a little too much to bear.

Great Italian Food … This little gem is hidden away in the Coventry Village Markets in Morley. Had walked past a number of times but this time I actually looked at the food. Everything looked homemade and fresh. Pastas, Cotoletta (think schnitzel), Roasted Vegetables. Yum.
