A Tale of Three Cafes … Baker Street Bakery – The Blue Duck Cafe – Amberjacks. Icy winds were blowing over Cottesloe Beach when I arrived. But I was rugged up for the weather so that was fine. Also, it seems that my timing was off for two of the three places on my list.

It’s finally happened … Parked at a set of lights the other day and saw a Food Truck drive by. It took a bit of rubbernecking to catch the name, “The Fish Boss”, a very promising name. Fish and Chips on Wheels, could it be true!!

A Special Opportunity … Have been a big fan of A Fish Called Inglewood since it opened. I’m guessing that was early 2014. We decided to revisit this week because of a very special offer of two courses for $25.00. Seemed rude to ignore that invitation.

Geoff Hayward’s Twins … Big fan of the Brisbane Hotel in Highgate. But I wasn’t aware that the Boulevard Hotel in Floreat was it’s sister Hotel. It seems Geoff Hayward joined forces with Taylor Robinson architects to produce this new baby sister. Read our review of the Brisbane Hotel.

Great Atmosphere … Two40Three Bar and Grill is one of those places that makes you want to go in when you walk past. It is always busy and people look like they’re having fun. So, this time, instead of walking past, in we went.

A Return Visit … Finally ventured back to A Fish Called Inglewood to try their dine-in experience. We were not disappointed.

Seafood Tortelloni / Pizza … It was a very hot Perth day when we arrived at the Brisbane Hotel for lunch. So we opted for an air conditioned table inside.

The Fish and Then The Chips … Was persuaded to try Sweetlips Fish and Chips. I’d been there before and enjoyed it. But Xena insisted we try it again, apparently, it’s awesome now.
Service was a little lackadaisical. It seemed to take ages to order because staff were getting distracted. Eventually, order placed, we were given water, cutlery and napkins to take to our table.

My Local … Kiwi Fish and Chips have a small shop on Walter Road. They are really just take away but there is one table and some chairs inside. They take phone orders and it’s best to ring your order in. It’s a busy place and there are often people waiting outside on the pavement for their orders to cook.
