Don’t Rain on My Parade … Taste of Perth is one of those foodie events that remains calm and opens Rain, Hail or Shine. It worked for me, as staff seemed to be two steps ahead of the weather at all times. Umbrellas went up over tables in the blink of an eye and the rains came, oh, ten minutes later.

A Little Slice of History … Petition Kitchen is housed in a building that has been around since 1878. One of a set of State Buildings that have been extensively renovated. This one fronts the Terrace and Barrack Street. Back in the day Petitioners would march down the Terrace to submit their Petitions while lobbying for their causes.

Expertly Engineered Coffee … Early morning meeting in the City. Half an hour to go and in desperate need of a coffee. My nose picked up a pleasant aroma just as I came across a rather long line of people queuing for coffee. Always a good sign, so with a leap of faith, I joined the queue.

It’s All Fresh … We were looking for Chik and Kent in the City but it had closed down. In it’s place was Millioncino. Lured by the pavement seating that was packed with people and deciding this was fate, we went inside.

Bellissimo Cappuccino … Today saw me visiting the EnEx100 Mall in the City again. It was early, I was tired and the need for coffee won me over. There are quite a few coffee shops in this Mall, so who to choose?

Bakery and Butchery … Had heard good things about the Flour Factory so we decided to visit. Must say the building is really impressive and it is surrounded by impressive buildings. Queen Street architecture is actually really something. I haven’t walked down the street for a while and felt a renewed sense of old Perth.

Let’s Go To The Mall … Was wandering around the City the other day looking for lunch. Came across the Enex100 Mall in Hay Street. Wow, impressive place. Luxurious. Went upstairs and discovered the Food Court. More like a Royal Palace. Such a grand establishment for a Food Court.
