Dahl and Paratha … Alas the Beez Kneez Café has closed its doors for a while. But I was hungry for lunch so ventured into Spice Shack next door. Not exactly sure why I haven’t tried the food at this café before. They sell authentic Sri Lankan food and groceries. There are also desserts, like Sago Pudding and Watalappam. Can’t guarantee the authenticity part because I have never been to Sri Lanka. But, to me, the food tasted great.
Take Away Curry
Because I was really hungry it was lucky to find there was a great selection of curries on offer at reasonable prices. Purchased a large Dahl and some Paratha bread.
Awesome flavours in the Dahl with a selection of minutely diced vegetables blended into the sauce and there was a crunch of Cumin Seeds. The Paratha, my favourite Indian bread, was light and flaky and delish.
Will head back to try some of their curries and desserts. The Chicken Biryani looked particularly tempting when I was there last.
There is seating available in the cafe, if you wanted to dine in. Spice Shack is right on Beechboro Road, so the traffic can be a little heavy at times.
