Smashed Avocado @ Circa 676, 676 Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley, Phone 9371 9971.
It’s Good News Week … Why? Because Smashed avocado seems to be making a bit of a come back. Well, at least with the Beaufort Street eateries that is.

Cucina Italia, 243-253 Walter Road West, Coventry Village Markets, Morley, Phone 9276 5471.
Like A Big Pizza Pie … And, that’s Amore. Taken completely by surprise by this venue and the food on offer. It was formerly known as Flamed Burgers but now is a full on, fully licensed Italian Restaurant.
Chapels On Whatley, 196 Whatley Crescent, Maylands, Phone 9272 7738.
The Magic Garden … Chapels on Whatley sits in the midst of a Tardis like terrace garden. And, it’s exquisite, with a Koi pond, brightly coloured parasols and authentic Chinese furniture.
Ramen Samurai, Units 3 & 4, 902 Albany Highway, East Victoria Park, Phone 6150 1827.
The High Art of Ramen … In Japan, Ramen is not fast food. And, Ramen Samurai understand what it takes to build this dish from scratch. The house made al dente noodles kick this soup up a level.
La Calabria Traditional Italian, Dog Swamp Shopping Centre, Yokine, Phone 9201 1880.
Let’s Go To The Mall … So, shopping centre cafes are a thing now. A little lost cluster of shops in Dog Swamp, yes you read that correctly, is home to La Calabria.
Tarts Cafe Revisit, 212 Lake Street, Northbridge, Phone 9328 6607.
Soul Kitchen … Haven’t been so excited in a long while. Tarts Café has changed their menu again. And there are a lot of Italian dishes on offer, woot.
The Hummus Club Cafe, 258 William Street, Northbridge, Phone 9227 8215.
Take Me Out Tonight … Xena and I were in Northbridge for a night out and in need of sustenance. So, we headed for the new Hummus Club Cafe on William Street.
Fez Cafe, 83 Walcott Street, Mount Lawley, Phone 9328 9999.
Kefalograviera … Try saying that three times quickly. The big K is a hard table cheese made with either Goat or Sheep’s milk. It was new to me and the stand out ingredient in my rather cluttered plate of food from Fez Café.
Lulu La Delizia, 5 / 97 Rokeby Road, Subiaco, Phone 9381 2466.
Don’t Think Twice … It’s alright, just go to LuLu La Delizia. This little Pasta and Wine Bar in Subiaco is run by former Lalla Rookh Chef Joel Valvasori.
The Partisan, 22 / 60 Royal Street, East Perth, Phone 9221 7404.
Should we be singing La Marseillaise? … The Partisan sits right next to Toast in East Perth. The interesting thing is that even though they are neighbours the view of the river is very different.
