Is it just me, or are there an extraordinary number of new Italian places in Perth? It seems everyday I’m reading about a new Cafe just opening and that’s a very good thing. Viva Italia.

A Sudden Sense Of Liberty … Feeling a sense of freedom made me decide to revisit Esprezzo. I remember the first visit as if it was yesterday, enjoying fabulous coffee and an impeccable brownie. This time their savoury food was in my sights.

Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This Also … Mount Hawthorn has a new Bakery and their speciality is Gourmet Cinnamon Buns. Spirals Cinnamon Bakery make plain Cinnamon buns and then dress them up with amazing topping combinations.

Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This … Guylian, famed Belgian Chocolate makers, have opened a Café in Perth. Yes, it’s true, would I lie to you. The Guylian Belgian Chocolate Café has taken up residence in the Heritage Listed former Western Australian Club building on the Terrace.

As Time Goes By … Wow, it’s been a year and a half since I first visited Betty & Dave’s Espresso + Kitchen. Decided a revisit was in order because of two little words “Posh Pies”.

Life Is A Cabaret … There was definitely a different vibe to this year’s event. Mt Hawthorn Streets & Lanes Festival has also grown since last year with Stalls extending into Oxford Street. And, a mini fun fair with rides at the edge of Axford Park.

Mamma Mia … Hiding away in the Old Morley Markets is a dazzling new Malaysian Cafe. The building is old and a little dowdy but there’s a light over by the Frankenstein place, oh, I mean the newly opened Mamak House.
