The Modern Eatery, Shop 1 / 595 Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley, Phone 9328 3661.
Super Sushi Power … The Modern Eatery is a very cute café which recently opened in Mount Lawley. Following in the footsteps of its big sister in Fremantle I get the feeling this Café is going to do just as well.

Tsuke Ba, Shop 3 / 139-141 Oxford Street, Leederville WA 6007, Phone 9201 0800.
Gyoza … Finally tried Tsuke Ba’s gyoza, after walking past the shop for months and never stopping. Picked up a pack of 4 seafood gyoza (dumplings) to take home and was impressed with the $4.50 price tag. The dumplings contained mashed prawns, water chestnuts and fresh herbs with a distinct garlicky taste and a dipping sauce. They were light and very fresh tasting.
Tak’E Sushi, Shop 14a, Dianella Plaza Shopping Centre, Corner Alexander Drive and Grand Promenade, Dianella WA 6059, Phone 9275 5882.
Hidden Treasure in Dianella … Have been going to Tak’E Sushi for five years now and haven’t had a bad meal. They are takeaway only, the place is teeny tiny and it pays to phone your order in. But, the staff are always friendly, the food is always fresh and tasty and if that means waiting, I wait.
New Place Japanese Kitchen, Shop 5 / 755 Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley WA 6050, Phone 9371 7878.
Prawn – Avocado – Egg Sushi Roll … Have been meaning to try this place for a while. It is fairly new and is right next to 2nd Avenue IGA. Their lunch menu is excellent and the pricing is okay. But their food looks great. Decided that I had to have the Prawn, Avocado and Egg Sushi Roll pack.
