Modern Australian Food … Driving by and noticed that Our Table was actually open, a fact which I had missed. So I pulled the car over and parked up. Our Table had been being renovated for a few months, so it was great to be able to take a look inside.

Revisit … Hadn’t been to the Oxford Hotel for a while, so a group of us descended on the place. We opted to sit inside in the air conditioning, which proved a wise choice on a hot Perth day.
Lucioli Bar Cafe – CLOSED OCT 2017

Great food … On entering Lucioli you are confronted with an array of amazing looking sweet treats. This was a nice way to be introduced to their food with Rum Babas and Croissants. And, the fabulous Bar which takes centre stage in the main space.

Lunch special … Spied Kumagoro Japanese Restaurant in the Floreat Forum Shopping Centre. It looked inviting, so we decided to try their lunch special, which at $10.00, including a drink, proved to be a definite bargain.

The Ultimate Delicatessen … Wow, Scutti Markets is a treasure trove of food. I used to come here years ago when it was called The Wingnut. It was the place to go for Cheese and Coffee. Oh, and Chocolate. I remember buying Lindt Chocolate and wondering what it would be like. But I digress. Back to Scutti Markets.

Margherita Pizza … Visited the Inglewood On Beaufort Night Markets, which is on Monday Nights during the season. And, we couldn’t go past Porta Pizza because the smell of the pizzas cooking was enough to tempt us.

Teriyaki Tofu Bento … Wow. Just reading some of the reviews about Shimizu Watertown made me double check the name of the cafe I had lunch in recently. Those reviews bear no resemblance to the place we visited.

Road Trip … We went on a bit of a road trip recently which started quite early in the a.m. About half an hour into the drive we decided food was needed urgently. This is not unusual for us. So, we stopped at a group of shops in Herne Hill, one of which was the Coffee Hut.

Real food … Finally got a chance to try the Wagon at the Maylands Hawkers Market. Been trying to track down this food truck for a while now. It was difficult because they are usually in the Fremantle area, and, I am usually not. Great looking van with an enviable commercial kitchen. Seriously, it’s better fitted out than most Restaurant kitchens. Got to beat this food truck envy thing.
