Eillo, 218 William Street, Northbridge, Phone 0420 757 321.
Elegant Coffee, Food, Cakes and Gifts … Yes, you read that correctly, Gifts. Eillo is a sophisticated space where you can wander and ponder the artwork, candles and other items for sale.
Eillo has been put together well, it’s a space that makes you want to sit down and stay a while.
There’s a large counter with the espresso machine and cakes on display. Distressed wooden floors, couches, high stools and low tables. It’s gorgeous.
We went to browse and ended up staying for coffee and green tea. Both were excellent and we also enjoyed a quiet time looking over the merchandise.
Ellio offer “Cruffins” which are a blend of a Croissant and a Muffin. The one we tried had Lemon Meringue filling. And, oh my that filling. As I’m a big fan of Lemon Meringue this was a stand out pastry for me. Different and beautifully made in house.
Their Toasties sounded good too but we’d already had lunch. Although the Pulled Beef with Caramelised Onions, Cheese and English Mustard did a good job of standing out from the crowd.
Eillo sits on William Street near the Cultural Centre and boasts neighbours like The Universal Bar and Shadow Wine Bar so they’re in good company.
