Miss Chow’s Dumpling House, Revisit, Shop 119, Claremont Quarter, Claremont, Phone 9383 3371.
Here We Go Again … It was brought to my attention that Xena had never eaten at Miss Chow’s in Claremont. It was a situation that needed rectifying immediately. So, off we went.
Nearly one year on from my initial visit the place is still charming, as are the staff. I’ve eaten at Miss Chow’s a number of times now, so it was fun watching Xena’s reaction to the friendly service and the menu. She was really enjoying the experience.
But back to the food. We selected the must have Tofu Baos which were thinly disguised as sliders on the Menu. Miss Chow’s pillowy bao buns are pretty awesome but this time it was the Tofu which stood out. It was cut thick, fried and deliciously creamy.
The Crystal Prawn Dumplings or Har Gow are another favourite with their crystal clear pastry showing off the ingredients inside. The prawns were well seasoned and just adding a simple splash of Soy Sauce revved up the flavour.
Xena had to try Miss Chow’s Spicy Fried Chicken with Sriracha Mayo. A dish that we have had in a few places around town but this plate of food stood out for us as well. Tender chicken pieces, lightly fried and coated with a thin layer of crunchy batter. Yum.
So, Miss Chow’s wine list is great and it was nice to see a number of wines by the glass including Prosecco. Picked the Mascareri Prosecco from Treviso Italy. A winery established in 1436 and wine with tasting key notes of Melon, Apple and Pear. Delish.
Deinitely a happy meal.
Update December 2016:
