Fish and Chips … A fairly new face in Mount Lawley is The Red Cray on Beaufort. Sister restaurant to the Red Cray in Belmont and as the names suggest they’re both Seafood Restaurants.
We went on a night their fish and chips were only $15.00, which was an unexpected bonus. So, we both decided to order the grilled fish and chips which came with a side salad. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, firm, white fish, grilled to perfection. Crispy chips and crunchy salad and amazing value for the price.
Fisherman’s Night
The restaurant itself has a lovely décor, with a full curved glass window along one wall that overlooks Beaufort Street.
The seating is a little cramped with tables practically touching. At one point I felt a little claustrophobic but the Manager noticed this and moved the table behind us slightly. Which was much better for all of us.
We noticed that the manager was pretty friendly and did his best to make us feel at home.
So, the dinner menu includes Steak, Curry, Risotto, and some fabulous Seafood platters and dishes. It’s diverse and makes it hard to choose what to eat.
The service was very good and not intrusive at all. Food and water were delivered quickly and plates were cleared before we even noticed.
