Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This … Guylian, famed Belgian Chocolate makers, have opened a Café in Perth. Yes, it’s true, would I lie to you. The Guylian Belgian Chocolate Café has taken up residence in the Heritage Listed former Western Australian Club building on the Terrace.
Guylian’s signature chocolates are their “Seahorses” and “Seashells”. And, the best bit is that a complimentary chocolate is presented with your Coffee purchase, when dining in.
The Building itself has been extensively restored and is just beautiful. Inside, the décor presents like a chocolate box, from the pinstriped wallpaper to the scatterings of chocolates everywhere you look.
The display case holds a host of delicious looking cakes and their Black Forest cake was definitely the one for me. So, I ordered the cake and a Cappuccino and sat down to inhale the surroundings.
The cake was presented beautifully, with stripes of chocolate and smears of cherry sauce. The trick appeared to be to get a piece of the cake, some chocolate and cherry all on the one forkful. Absolutely delicious, by the way.
Let me just point out that at $14.50 the cake was a tad expensive but this Café is about spoiling yourself. And, there are major indulgences everywhere you look to spoil yourself with.
This was my second visit to the Café because the first time I just tried a Mocha and took some photos of the building.

So, the Guylian Belgian Chocolate Café offers Brunch, Lunch, Ice Cream and Coffee and Cake plus the bonus of that lovely ambience.
