Pretty Good … Love Subiaco and the wide range of cafes. But, since Boulangerie closed it’s doors, I’ve been looking for a regular haunt. I may have found one in J’aime Patisserie Café.
When you walk into, or even pass by, the café you can’t help but be drawn to their display cabinet. It is vibrantly colourful, full of cakes, macarons, filled sandwiches and rolls. And, the one word that always springs to my mind is “pretty”. The cakes are so stunning visually that it seems a shame to eat them.
They also sell a range of pies, croissants, sausage rolls, quiches and Vietnamese Bahn Mi. There seems to be buzz about their Vietnamese rolls.
Was surprised to see that they make a Durian Cake. A chance, I guess, to try this fruit without the unpleasant side effect of the smell.
I’ve sampled the Bahn Mi, Chicken Pie and, of course, some of those luscious cakes. The food is top notch. So, far it’s all been take away but will have to go back to try their coffee. Hearing good things about their coffee.
Update: 12/12/2015 … Big fan of caramel slices and we noticed some in the display cabinet. Couldn’t go past a J’aime Patisserie Cafe Caramel Slice. Purchased two to take home. Excellent. silky Caramel with a salty base and Chocolate Ganache top. Need I say more?
