And You’ll Sing Vita Bella … Sitting down to lunch at Galileo Buona Cucina made me appreciate how beautiful life can be. And, for me, that’s usually because food is involved.
Had presumed Galileo was only open at night but that’s not the case, they open for lunch Tuesday through Friday.
The Restaurant is very cheerful with the marbled paint on the walls and the various pieces of art around the place.
The service was wonderful and not intrusive at all. Very old school with napkins put on laps, water and menus arriving quickly and that time tested reading of the specials. It was nice to be looked after.
So, I ordered the Pesto Gnocchi because I just can’t go past this dish and my main aim in life seems to be to find the perfect plateful. I’ve found a few actually.
This plate of food was so pretty that I dived straight in. What happened next was like a treasure hunt because after eating a few pieces of the pasta I started to uncover hidden booty.
The first was the confit garlic pieces which were tender and swimming in a little pool of EVOO. Oh my. The second was the crunchy roasted pine nuts. And, lastly the Parmigiana cheese hidden in the sauce, okay, that one I was expecting.
So, at the end of the meal a complimentary plate of petite fours arrived on the table. With a Meringue, Shortbread and White Chocolate slice, very scrummy and a nice surprise.
