Don’t Want To Tarantella … But I do want to eat some Italian food at Pinelli Estate. At one point a French chef operated Fillaudeau’s Restaurant but now the menu is strictly Italian.
Wine tasting is not only welcome but staff find it essential to recommend wines to go with the food of your choice. A nice touch.
I sat for a while in the Loggia and my view was a pristine green lawn leading down to the grapevines. The restaurant has a fabulous view of those vines and it’s only 10 or so minutes from bustling suburbia. The venue definitely has an rural feel.
Food choices were bountiful with share plates being the preference of the day. Marlo and I chose well, as all four plates were a little bit sensational.
So, those share plates entailed bruschetta, eggplant parmigiana, beetroot salad with feta and roasted walnuts and the final dish of squid and octopus.
Thought and love went into the plating of those four dishes, each of which had something a little different on the plate. A small splash of reduced balsamic here, a mustard dressing there, you get the gist.
Once the food was on the table I became aware that I just couldn’t stop eating. Delicious and appreciated provisions.
The restaurant has been open four weeks and staff seem to be coping very well.
So, it’s a rustically beautiful venue which is surrounded by picturesque vines. Accompanied by great food and wine, what more do you need?
Ah, and a visit to the neighbours next door at Maison Saint Honore for dessert. So scrumptious.
