Rise And Shine … So happy to finally get to West End Deli Cereal & Sandwich Bar. Tucked away in the basement of the Petition Building with Sue Lewis, Chocolatier, and The Honey Cake people.
Head for St Georges Tce and wander downstairs to this tiny atmospheric venue. While the first thing to catch my attention was the ginormous espresso machine, I then noticed the food display cabinet, oh my.
So, my choice of provisions was an easy one. Perfect toasted flatbread adorned with confit mushrooms, tomato relish, blue cheese and a fully cooked egg with an outstanding runny yolk.
Just a note about that flatbread which I know was wholemeal and crispy Paratha. Which made this plate of food delicious and memorable for $8.
My short macchiato was perfect, nothing else needs to be said.
And, before I forget, there are samples of honey cake and gourmet chocolates to drool over. So, take a wander while you’re waiting for your meal. Or, just tarry a while with the cocoa and cacao treats.
