And, You’ll Sing Vita Bella … I had a sense of purpose the moment I laid eyes on the breakfast buffet at the Westin. When I finally worked out that the venue was Guy Grossi’s Garum, I was over the moon.
I guess the key clue had to be the three focaccia pizzas sitting all in a row on the main buffet counter.
Imagine, if you will, a buffet filled with Italian delicacies, both savoury and sweet. Plus house made breads, pastries and patisserie items.
There is even a small espresso machine and my short macchiato was sensational let me tell you. All created and consumed in a matter of minutes.
But it doesn’t end there because of the charcuterie buffet section which also displays a variety of breads and, believe it or not, gourmet yoghurts.
It was a very interesting experience and one that left me quite decided that I had found my buffet Nirvana in Perth. Everything was so good and there was lots of it to choose from.
That pizza base deserves a special mention because it was amazing. Being very thick, springy and chewy with lush mozzarella cheese and tomato and the potential highlight of the savoury section for me.
Scrambled eggs, lush and creamy, mixed with marinated mushrooms and potatoes was my sort of breakfast. Delicious food and highly appreciated.
So, ending the meal with a selection of five different sweet treats is noteworthy, as they were all traditional Italian fare. That is my sort of buffet adorned with all Nona’s favourites. Scrumptious.
