Extremely Pleasant … After a bad dining experience at one the wineries we ventured into Yahava KoffeeWorks for coffee and dessert. It was a sweltering Perth day, it had reached 40C early in the day and it was still stifling at 2.00 in the afternoon. We welcomed the air conditioning as it hit us on entering the building. Ah. Nothing like air conditioning after sweltering for a few hours in the heat.

The story behind Yahava goes something like this. Alex Kok, the self titled Coffee Baron, rode his motor cycle around the World in search of perfect coffee beans. He would then ship them back to Western Australia. On his return he would go to his Metricup Road building and roast the beans to perfection. Apparently, people came from miles away to try the Baron’s coffee.

The Yahava KoffeeWorks building has a nice décor. Loved the eclectic furniture and general look of the place straight up. There were tall tables, comfy couches, small coffee tables. Even a coffee table made from a wheel.

The place is divided into sections. You can taste their coffees at the sample station; buy coffee beans to take home at the grinding station; or just order great coffee and luscious cakes from the café station.

It was a really hot afternoon and this cafe did it right with good air con, great service, food and coffee. The staff were all smiles and attentive, going out of their way to assist if they thought you needed help.

Really like the entire concept of this business. A lot of thought has gone into the structure. It is unique and best of all, the coffee is amazing.
