I Should Have Known Better … Than to visit a new Café in the first few weeks after opening. But did that stop me? It did not. Magna Pizza has just opened a new Store in Mount Hawthorn. It’s the sister to the Fremantle Store. And, given all the positive reviews, I couldn’t wait to sample their wares.
The menu had some really interesting combinations so I headed off to try their Giordano Pizza. A Tomato base with Mozzarella, Eggplant, Dried Tomatoes, Provolone Cheese, Homemade Pesto Genovese and Walnuts. Definitely a combination for me.
My visit was a little bit of a disappointment. The staff were really busy, the whole time I was there. This happens sometimes, where tasks get in the way of customers, I get that. But after 20 or more minutes of having ordered and not received either a pizza or water, my mood kind of deflated.
Receiving the Pizza actually didn’t help much. The toppings were all in place but the pizza crust was wafer thin. It was crunchy near the edges but a bit, only a bit, soggy in the middle, sadly.
Would have loved more of the Pesto in the mix, really think the flavour boost would have made it edgier.
Will return in a couple of months to test the waters again.
Took the leftover pizza home because I wanted Xena’s opinion. Even though reheating had made the crust crispier, Xena still thought it was a little too thin.
