Prince Lane Bar, 356 Murray Street, Perth, Phone 9481 1960.
Searching For Satori … Life as a blogger means a continual search for fabulous food. And, that’s what I found at Prince Lane Bar as their Chef, Ryan Ebbs, has certainly put together a menu to be proud of.
This venue was formerly The Emerson Bar but had to be renamed because of a conflict with the Emerson in Melbourne. But to me Prince Lane is the perfect name.
So, the food, taking inspiration from their menu meant a couple of visits but that’s okay I cherish the memory of food this good.
To start, a plate of wonton prawn tacos. Yeah, they had me at hello with these babies. Grilled prawn, whipped avo, shaved iceberg, lemon pepper pearls (say what now?), fried leeks and crisped wontons.
The flavours, oh the flavours and those little pearls just popped and added even more zest. Dining on my own had me bracing myself not to say Yum every two seconds.
To finish, a plate of achiote chicken quesadillas. Achiote peach rubbed chicken, corn tomato salsa, black hot sauce.
A picture perfect plate of food and boy can you taste the peach, so very pleasant. The flavour surprises were present again in this dish and I want to say there was manchego but it could have been parmesan.
The smear of sour cream covered in salsa, was nicely seasoned itself, and I definitely could taste paprika, coriander, lime, red onions and hot chilli sauce. So many little taste explosions. Just lovely.
I also enjoyed a short macchiato, topped up, in a tall glass, very nice.
