Hampton & Maley, 59 Albany HIghway, Victoria Park.
A Talent To Amuse … Sadly, I missed out on Restaurant Amuse so when I heard about their new café Hampton & Maley off I went.
The venue, on the river end of Victoria Park, is sleek, shiny and has both indoor and outdoor seating.
So, I can’t stress enough how much I enjoyed reading the menu as it is an eclectic list of lovely sounding food. Return visits will be necessary in order to indulge in the meals that came in as runners up.
Staff were on top form with water and the menu arriving promptly. As did my short macchiato which was strong, frothy and the java art was very sweet. Lovely cup of Joe.
My meal of choice was the chicken liver parfait on charred house made sourdough which was served with a variety of pickled vegetables. Yum.
I had a smile on my face from start to finish because this was a striking plate of food and the thickly sliced creamy parfait went so well with the acidic veggies and crispy toast. A very pleasant combination.
That bread was pretty special by the way and as Hampton & Maley have a range of sandwiches on the menu it will be the pairing I’ve been waiting for. Who needs to wait til lunch time to have a sanger.

Also picked up a Portuguese tart to take home. The tart was impressive, not too sweet, crispy pastry and demolished in minutes.
