Hub British Pub, Namba Oriental Hotel, 3f, 2-8-17, Sennichimae, Chuo-ku, Osaka, Japan
I Bought A Ticket To The World … On our one night stopover in Osaka, Xena and I found not only a Happy Hour but a proper British Pub. And, there was Guinness on tap, score!!
Hub British Pub is actually a Japanese chain, so there are Hub Pubs dotted all over Japan. It’s a great concept really, as these drinking holes all look the same and offer standard British fare like Fish and Chips.
For Xena and I it was Wood Fired Pizza all the way and it came with some pretty amazing, gooey cheese. Really nice chew to the pizza base which was delightful and crispy, so no droopy bases for us.
Never ones to let a half price drinks offer go by we ordered a Half Pint of Guinness for me and a London Island Iced Tea for Xena. Both came in at the very moderate total price of $7.50 which was excellent value.
Three bells sounded which meant last orders for Happy Hour. So, we changed drinks, a Prosecco for me and a house made lemonade for the big X.
The Bar Manager was really good at his job and made us feel very welcome. He was like that with everyone in the lounge and I loved his Pork Pie Hat.
It was on the way back to the Hotel that Xena discovered LaLaLa Mont Blanc at the Ritz Carlton Hotel. This is a dessert café which you can read our review of here.
So, the ticket to the World costs $29 for a tour of British Beers both traditional style and the newer offerings. Which is a very good deal if you’re into that sort of thing.
