Purple Haze … Lavender Bistro sits in a bush setting behind the Margaret River Chocolate Company. The smell of lavender as you walk in the door is very appealing, as is the clean, streamlined venue.
Lavender Bistro is one of those venues that mix food and shopping and there’s not much wrong with that. It’s lavender paradise with goods for sale like tea, soap, sparkling wine, jam, edible oil, massage oil and there are bound to be things I’ve forgotten.
So, I did wonder if the lavender taste was strong enough to make a difference to the palate. And, I soon found out.
I ordered Lavender ice cream and Lavender scones, jam and cream. The ice cream was enormous and after just a few spoonfuls I was experiencing lavender bliss. Yum.
The scones didn’t actually have a purple haze but the lavender seeds made these little baked goods hum. Nice strong taste with a light crumb so I piled the jam and cream on top and ate, enjoying the whole experience.
Also enjoyed a very pleasant short macchiato which was Barista made and just lovely.
