16 Fabulous Italian Meals 2017

Is it just me, or are there an extraordinary number of new Italian places in Perth? It seems everyday I’m reading about a new Cafe just opening and that’s a very good thing. Viva Italia.

1. Spritz Spizzicheria Italiana, Mt Hawthorn

A plate of gorgeous Gnocchi and Ravioli plus a glass of exceptional Prosecco. What more do you need? The bonus is that Spritz’s service is second to none. review

2. Lulu La Delizia, Subiaco

Chef Joel Valvasori’s little Italian Cucina pumps out some incredible food. We tried the Gnocchi with swimmer crab and the Vongole Spaghetti both were totes amaze. review

3. Pappagallo, Leederville

Could not wait to try the Gnocchi at Pappagallo. We weren’t disappointed with the Pasta which was light, fluffy and the San Marzano sauce was delicious. review

4. No Mafia, Northbridge

No Mafia is a Wine Bar offering a Northern Italian Fusion cuisine. We picked the Zucchini, Chilli, Gorgonzola and Chickpea Fritters with a Verde Aioli which was just lovely. review

5. Tarts Cafe, Northbridge

House made fusion Gnocchi with two sauces, a Fontina with parmesan, spinach and cream basil plus a Napoletana. Delicious plate of food and I can’t stop raving about it.  review

6. Solo Pasta, Mount Lawley

Monte Fiore are now Solo Pasta. Their pasta comes in three flavours Classic, Spinach or Beetroot. For me it was the Spinach Pappardelle with a deconstructed Pesto Sauce. Such a stunning plate of food and I love their whole concept. review

7. Posto Matto, Osborne Park

The pizza was visually stunning and I tucked right in. The mozzarella was creamy plus the tomato sauce was sweet and well seasoned. The crust was superb with its chewy, crunchy bliss. review

8. Cecchi’s Tapas Bar, Inglewood

This small bar offers great cocktails and a fab selection of wines by the glass. We discovered their Antipasti and freshly baked Panzanelle (bread) which are to die for. Yum. review

9. Pizzeria Colosseo, Noranda

Hand made Pizza Dough from a family recipe. So, biting into the Pizza I noticed it had a pleasant char from the wood fire. Plus it was not too thick and gave a nice chew. With its quality mozzarella and tomato sauce this was a stand out pizza. review

10. Cecchi’s Brunch

A beautiful garden setting and a very interesting Brunch Menu. I tried the Huevos Rancheros with an Italian twist, Bene. review

11. Locale Cucina, North Perth

Spaghetti in a Kale, Rocket and Parsley Pesto doused in Pecorino. Bonus bread, EVOO and Balsamic. Cibo delizioso. review

12. Osteria Dei Sapori, Nedlands

We revisited to try a Lunch Special, Ravioloni Ai Gamberi. The Prawn and Scallop filled Ravioloni in a piquant Prawn Bisque. Great plate of food. review

13. Italians, Dianella

Xena opted for Pizza, which was delicious. For me it was the Eggplant Parmigiana and both meals were pretty sensational. review

14. Jamie’s Italian, Perth CBD

The Fusilli Arrabbiata with fiery Scotch Bonnet chillies was delicious. The artisan hand made fusilli was al dente and the chew was perfect. review

15. Siena’s Sister, Highgate

We revisited and tried a few different Pastas. The favourite was the Spaghetti Carbonara. Oh, and the Cocktails. Welcome Back. review

16. ilPasto, Inglewood

Love ilPasto and we recently shared Rigatoni Con Melanzana and Rigatoni Pomodoro Bocconcini. Such great flavours and just like Mama used to make. review
