Silent Sigh … Fat Fish Ramen is the new kid on the Empire Village block. It’s a small venue with in house seating but the shared veranda offers extra seats.

Ramen Lab, Shop 36 / 602 Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley, Phone 9328 3946.
Serious Ramen Business … Ramen Lab recently opened on Beaufort Street. It is one of a limited number of places in Perth that make their own noodles in house. Xena and I zoomed off to test the waters.
Pepper Lunch Mount Lawley, Beaux Lane, 609 Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley WA 6050, Phone 6150 8350.
Beaux Lane Sizzles … Only recently became aware that Beaux Lane existed. Noticed the Health Freak Café had opened a new store there and they used the Lane in their address. There are already four cafes in residence and a fifth venue has “leased” signs in the window. Things are starting to warm up.

Twilight Hawkers Market, Forrest Place, Perth WA 6000 – Friday Nights 4.30pm to 9.30pm – October 2015 through April 2016 Season.
Foodie Nirvana … The Twilight Hawkers Market in the City was the first market to catch my attention. I remember thinking that this was a huge thing. A collection of Food Trucks, Vans and Market Stalls all selling Street Food. Had I died and reached Nirvana? Well, not quite but almost.
Hanami Japanese Restaurant, 685 Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley WA 6050, Phone 9371 9855.
To Lunch or Not To Lunch … That was the question we asked ourselves as we headed out to the Beaufort Street Café Strip. Just exactly what did we want to eat! We had too many choices and just couldn’t decide. When we spotted Hanami Japanese Restaurant that settled the problem. Japanese food it was to be.

Tsuke Ba, Shop 3 / 139-141 Oxford Street, Leederville WA 6007, Phone 9201 0800.
Gyoza … Finally tried Tsuke Ba’s gyoza, after walking past the shop for months and never stopping. Picked up a pack of 4 seafood gyoza (dumplings) to take home and was impressed with the $4.50 price tag. The dumplings contained mashed prawns, water chestnuts and fresh herbs with a distinct garlicky taste and a dipping sauce. They were light and very fresh tasting.
Tak’E Sushi, Shop 14a, Dianella Plaza Shopping Centre, Corner Alexander Drive and Grand Promenade, Dianella WA 6059, Phone 9275 5882.
Hidden Treasure in Dianella … Have been going to Tak’E Sushi for five years now and haven’t had a bad meal. They are takeaway only, the place is teeny tiny and it pays to phone your order in. But, the staff are always friendly, the food is always fresh and tasty and if that means waiting, I wait.
