Beaufort Local, 488-492 Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley, Phone 9328 6299.
Hey. Cool. Easy. Sweet. … Beaufort Local (formerly Beaufort St Merchant) has a split personality. Inside there is utter sophistication while outside is a funky al fresco with real trees and eclectic seating.
Henry’s Rooftop Bar, The Reveley, Elizabeth Quay, Eastern Promenade, Riverside Drive, Perth WA 6000, Phone 6314 1350.
Spectacular Views … Henry’s Rooftop Bar is on the top floor of the Reveley complex in Elizabeth Quay. The three level complex has a café at ground level, a sophisticated restaurant in the middle and a funky rooftop bar which serves Bar Food. Oh, and that view is to die for. From Elizabeth Quay, through South Perth, through Kings Park and the Perth CBD. Wowsa.
Asian Tapas … Heard through the grapevine that the Adelphi Grill at the Parmelia Hilton had had yet another revamp. The place has changed 3 times in the last few years. It now has a huge Bar with windows overlooking Mill Street. And, a pavement dining area with big umbrellas.
Village Bar, 10-531 Hay Street, Subiaco WA 6008, Phone 9381 5099.
Small plates of Delicious Food … Went to the Village Bar by accident really as it was raining heavily and we were hungry. The staff were friendly and laughed when we came in, as we looked like drowned rats.
Bob’s Bar, Print Hall, Brookfield Place, 125 St Georges Terrace, Perth Wa 6000, Phone 6282 0077.
Dumplings and Cava … What I like about Bob’s Bar most is that it’s named after Bob Hawke. Not because I’m a fan but because if ever there was a larrikin that deserved a bar named after him it’s BH. The walls are lined with quotes from the man himself. “Any boss who sacks anyone for not turning up today is a bum.” Etc.
